The event organized by TerraIncognita Sport is consolidating itself as one of the most
as one of the most desired ultramarathons in Europe.

Granada, April 7, 2025.
Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada celebrated this weekend
its eleventh edition consolidating itself as one of the toughest and at the same time most beautiful ultramarathon races in Europe. The event brought together more than 1,700 runners of
50 nationalities, demonstrating the great international impact that the race has
reached in recent times. Sierra Nevada, as a natural environment, is
a true paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts, not only for its landscapes,
slopes and spectacular peaks, but also for its altitude and the
high performance center installed in Pradollano.

Thus, Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada is revealed as the perfect mountain race for
a list of runners of very different level and purpose. Many of them come to
the province of Granada with the aim of enjoying the sporting experience, and others
so many with the ambition to fight for the front positions. The only certainty is that,
at the end, all enjoy equally an event that puts in value the privileged
Andalusian orography.

As usual, the Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada program integrated up to four
race modalities. The most prestigious of them, the Ultra, proposes to run during
100 kilometers saving 5,500 meters of positive difference in altitude between the capital, Granada, and
the ski resort of Pradollano. An exciting challenge crowned by the ascent in the
last quarter of the race at the foot of the Veleta peak, reaching 3,000 m. altitude.

The fastest runner in the men’s category was the Frenchman Cédric Chavet, who gave
an exhibition dominating the course from start to finish, and setting a final time of
11:55:31. He thus inscribed his name in a prestigious list of winners that includes other
athletes such as Miguel Heras or Pau Capell. In the female category the winner
was Pilar Medina, with a time of 15:29:16, who arrived at the finish line full of joy and
confessed to have enjoyed the kilometers run on the accumulated snow.

The Trail modality, of 60 kilometers and 3,800 meters of positive vertical drop, starting at
Cenes de la Vega and finishing in Pradollano, crowned as champions José Mª Garrido
(6:19:35) and the French Maud Combarieu (7:45:28).
Meanwhile, the Marathon modality,
with a circuit of 40 kilometers and 2,700 meters of positive difference in altitude, brought Antonio Alfonso Ruiz (4:04:18) and Gemma Arenas from La Mancha
(4:26:20) to the top of the podium.

The program of Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada was completed on Sunday
with the shortest of the modalities, the Media, but no less demanding. And
is that the route of 25 kilometers and 2,150 meters of positive slope between Pinos
Genial and Pradollano does not give any respite to the participants. A constant climb in
which won Javi Gutiérrez (2:19:40) and the Polish Magdalena Klaspulska (2:56:34).

Organized by TerraIncognita Sport with the collaboration of Cetursa Sierra Nevada and
the Diputación de Granada, Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada thus becomes one of the most desired ultras
in Europe. In addition, the event is already an unmistakable part of the
sports heritage of Andalusia, opening a new stage in which sponsorships
are an essential part of the great health of the race: Unicaja debuted as
Title Sponsor and other prestigious brands in the trail running industry such as
Joma Sport and HSN continue to provide their unconditional support.
