This Regulation can be corrected, modified or improved at any time by the Organization, as well as any data, rule or apart for optimal race performance. To be registered shows the conformity of the participant with this Regulation.
This Regulation will be strictly complied for all participants of the event denominated ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA in all its categories: EXTREMA, ULTRA, TRAIL, MARATON and MEDIA. Any incident not reflected in the regulation, will be resolved by the jury of the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA 2023, composed by the Sports Director of the race, a Member of the Organization, a Representative of the Runners and a Referee.
The mountain race Ultra Sierra Nevada is organized by TerraIncognita Global S.L.
ULTRA is a mountain race of 100 km of distance. The Start line is in Granada. Participants will run through the environment of Sierra Nevada Natural Park, reach to the Veleta Peack (3100m) to finalize at the ski resort of Pradollano.
Together with the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA, the ULTRA R3L3VOS, TRAIL, MARATHON and MEDIA will be run.
(From now on, all the regulations developed here for the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA are applicable to all participants in the TRAIL, MARATON and MEDIA).
The ULTRA R3L3VOS shares the same route as the TRAIL and will also include the ascent to Pico Veleta of the ULTRA modality and will be run in teams of 3 people.
STRETCHES:
In the event that the track along which the race runs between Pradollano – Estadio Superior – Pradollano is completely covered in snow, this last section can be done by the three members of the team.
Otherwise, as it is a natural area, according to the regulations of the Natural Park, this section can only be done by the team member to whom it corresponds until reaching the ski resort again where the 3 members will join together to enter the finish line.
The route, checkpoints and aid stations of TRAIL are the same as the 62 kilometers of the ULTRA from Cenes de la Vega to Pradollano, where the finish line is installed.
The route, checkpoints and aid stations of MARATÓN are the same as the 40 kilometers of the ULTRA from Cenes de la Vega to Pradollano, where the finish line is installed.
The route, checkpoints and aid stations of MEDIA are the same as the 25 kilometers of the ULTRA from Pinos Genil to Pradollano, where the finish line is installed .
ULTRA will be held on Friday, April 4 of 2025. The Start time will be at 22:00 hours on Friday at the Paseo del Salón, Granada.
TRAIL and R3LEVOS will be held on Saturday, April 5 of 2025. The Start time will be at 6:00 hours at Cenes de la Vega.
The MARATHON will be held on Saturday 5th April 2025 from 08:00 hours. The start will take place in the town of Cenes de la Vega.
The MEDIA will be held on Sunday 6th April 2025 from 09:00 hours. The start will take place in the town of Pinos Genil.
The finish line for participants in the ULTRA and ULTRA R3L3VOS will close at 21:30 on 5 April 2025.
The finish line for participants in the TRAIL will close at 21:00 on 5 April 2025.
The finish line for participants in the MARATHON will close at 20:00 on 5 April 2025.
The finish line for the participants in the MEDIA will be closed at 14:00 on the 6th April 2025.
The ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA is held with absolute respect for the environment.
Participants should respect the environment in which the race is realized and keep clean the environment. For these reasons the runners should eat and drink WITHOUT LEAVING ANY PACKAGE OUT OF CONTAINERS enabled for such use.
THE BREACH OF THIS ITEM will lead to the IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE PARTICIPANT. This disqualification can be disabled by a simple testimony of any member of the organizing team of the race.
The Organization will not cut traffic, and participants will respect the road rules in towns and highways use and public domain.
The participants will be disqualified from the competition if showing violent aptitudes or littering in nature. To respect the crops, livestock and private property in general are obligatory.
Participants are responsible for any damages incurred as a result of this type of behavior.
It is strictly forbidden to receive outside assistance or supplies during the development of the race out of the points set forth by the organization: these points will coincide with the official refreshments.
Participation is open to all those persons who formalize correctly both REGISTRATIONS as the payment stipulated for the races.
The registration fee for the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA will be governed by the payment terms established on the registration page.
The act of registering for the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA entails the acceptance of its terms and conditions by all participants. It also implies that the participant has the adequate preparation and that he/she is aware of the hard geographical and weather conditions one may encounter throughout its course. Therefore, the participant exempts the Organizer from any liability regarding any health problems resulting from his/her participation in the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA .
Registered participants understand that they participate in the event voluntarily and under their own responsibility. Thus, they exempt the Organizer from any liability and will not press any charges or file any liability claims against the Organizer, its collaborators, sponsors or other participants.
To this end, when collecting their race bib in Granada, participants must submit the document “Disclaimer and certificate of physical fitness” duly printed and signed. This document will be read and accepted during the registration process, and each participant must print it, fill in and sign it.
All participants will have the right to cancel their registration and receive the corresponding refund according to the terms set out on the following registration page
Requests for fee refunds will only be accepted BEFORE 15 days before de race.
Reimbursements will be made before 30 days from the date of acceptance of the application.
Once a cancellation request is accepted, the Organizer will transfer the corresponding vacant place to the candidate at the top of the waiting list on that moment.
The numbers will be collected in Cenes de la Vega on Thursday from 17:00-21:00h, Friday 12:00-21:00 p.m. and Saturday from 17:00h to 21:00h
Each participant must wear the race bib on the front of the body, on top of the clothing, and it must be easily visible all time.
Race bibs are personal and non-transferable. By default, race bibs (and gift bags) will only be given to participants who have registered for the event. Participants must show an IDENTITY CARD, PASSPORT or NIE (Foreign Identification Number) to prove their identity in order to collect their race bib. The identity document must be the same used for registration.
After the identity check, the personnel handing out the race bib will put a control wristband on the wrist of the participant. The participant must wear this wristband during the entire event. Together with the race bib, the wristband entitles access to all services available for participants: start area, aid stations, transport for dropouts, medical services, drop bag transport and collection… etc.
Not wearing the wristband during the event entails disqualification.
Each participant will be assigned a number, which will be determined randomly in all cases, except for the first numbers to be determined by the Organization.
Participants will get race bibs of different colors according to their race, ULTRA, TRAIL, MARATON or MEDIA
Once the event is over, the race bibs and runner’s bag will not be sent to the runner’s home under any circumstances.
The route of the race will be marked with tape and specific signage created for race. The track of the Trail shall be published in the official website of the race. Any changes or modifications to the same will be announced in the official website and social networks.
Participants must follow the marked course without disobeying any signs and must stop at all checkpoints.
Besides the official checkpoints announced on the web www.ultrasierranevada.com, the Organization may set up “mobile” checkpoints to control the race or material at any point of the course.
Participants must respond to the requests and questions posed by a course steward, physician, nurse or aid station supervisor at checkpoints or at any other point throughout the race.
It is strictly forbidden receive outside assistance or supplies during the development of the race out of the points set forth by the organization: these coincide with the official refreshments. Likewise, it is prohibited to be accompanied by others who are not participants registered in the race.
Participants of ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA may have personal assistance only in the areas enabled for it. ASSISTANCE AREAS comprise an area set by the organization. The limits of these areas will be clearly marked throughout the course, marking the start and the end of each ASSISTANCE AREA. Access to aid stations will be restricted to runners and authorized crews (RESTRICTED AREA without public access). Only one crew member can enter and assist each runner in the RESTRICTED AREA in aid stations.
When collecting the race bib, each runner can apply for a maximum of 2 authorizations for assistance crew members, so they can distribute among the different aid stations.
Each aid station has a designated closing time. Participants must reach all aid stations before their closing time to be able to continue on the race.
Aid stations will provide liquids and solid food, which will vary according to their location on the course. The items available in each aid station may be checked at the web.
Food and drinks must be ingested at the aid station, in sufficient amount to meet the energy requirements to reach the next aid station. Water can be loaded in the containers or hydration packs carried by the participants.
Having a race bib and a wristband is required to get access to the aid stations.
An area with warm food, medical assistance, etc… will be enabled in Pradollano for all participants of ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA.
Every participant of the ULTRA and TRAIL will receive, when retire the bib number, two bags will be able to deliver with whatever material they consider they may need in the provisioning stations established in the town of Pinos Genil and in Pradollano (before the climb) and that will later go to the finish line .
The runners of the MARATON and MEDIA will be able to deliver a bag at the start that will go to the finish line.
These bags, delivered by the organization and duly identified with the number label provided by the Organization, must be delivered on the same day of the Start in the space provided for this purpose at the start of each modality. The runner will deliver the bags to him before entering the starting box.
Only bags delivered by the organization when picking up the bib number will be accepted in the Bag drop-off.
The Bag drop-off, to be collected at Pinos Genil by participants of ULTRA and TRAIL will be returned to ski resort of Pradollano (Finish line).
The organization is not responsible for any items left inside the backpack.
Runners wishing to drop out of the race should take into account that all bags are available in the space provided at the checkpoint and aid station of Güejar Sierra until the closing time of this checkpoint.
The Organizer will not check the contents of the bags or whether they are properly closed. Therefore, the Organizer will not respond to any complaints about loss or damage of bags or their contents. It is recommended to not leave valuables or fragile material in the bags. Runners should ensure the bag remains closed at all times by reinforcing its closing (for example with a string or bridle).
There will be several medical and safety teams coordinated with the national 112 emergency services by the central direction of the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA, located in Pradollano.
By default, these teams will be distributed among the different aid stations so runners may ask for assistance or help in case of need.
There will be mandatory medical examinations at some points along the route, which may be random or general.
Refusal by the runner to cooperate fully or being disrespectful with the medical personnel may result in immediate disqualification.
All participants will accept the medical decisions of the physicians and medical team, whose decision will prevail over all others. The physicians and caregivers may:
Remove from the event any runner that they consider incapable of continuing, by invalidating their race bib number.
Order the evacuation of any participant who they consider being in danger.
If necessary, order the hospitalization of a runner.
Withdrawals must be made in the Control Points. If by accident or injury, the runner cannot reach a checkpoint they must follow the rescue procedure by contacting the organization through the Emergency Mobile Phone.
The runner wishing to drop out must inform the aid station. The supervisor will identify the runner as dropout.
Only the aid stations indicated as CONTROL RECALL points, there will be transportation to evacuate dropout runners.
Even if the dropout opts to get back to Pradollano by own means, he/she must inform about his/her intention to drop out to the supervisor will identify the runner as dropout. Otherwise the Organizers will consider the runner missing and activate the rescue alarm.
In case of bad weather conditions or force majeure, the organizers reserve the right to suspend, neutralize or modify the time and / route of the race.
If the event is cancelled due to force majeure more than 7 days before the start date, the registration fees will be partially refunded. The amount refunded will depend on the date of the suspension and the amount that the Organizer has already spent on non-refundable costs.
If the event is cancelled for reasons beyond the Organizer’s control within 7 days before the start of the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA, or if the event is suspended after having started, no registration fees will be refunded
Race Referees present in the race as well as any member of the organization shall monitor the implementation of the Regulation and are authorized to immediately apply the following penalties or disqualifications:

The top three finishers of each category will receive a trophy. Is necessary the participation of at least five athletes in each category to opt for trophy. If this requirement is not met, only the winner of the category will have trophy.
The first federated club qualified will be awarded a trophy. The time for the top 3 runners from each club will be added to obtain the total time. In case of a tie between several clubs, the time of the first 4 runners will be added and so on until break the tie.
Lack of attendance to the awards ceremony entails renouncing to the corresponding trophy and cash prize. Any delegation to another person for the collection of trophies and awards shall be known and authorized by the Organization at least 3 hours before delivery.
All finishers of the ULTRA, TRAIL, MARATHON AND MEDIA will receive a finisher garment at the end of the race within the time established by the organisation.
Runners may file complaints while the ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA is taking place. A 60€ deposit (in cash) must be paid to file a complaint. This deposit will be refunded if the complaint is accepted and resolved in favor of the runner.
These complaints may be filed until the closing time of ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA. Their resolution may affect the provisional ranking and awarded runners.
All complaints will be studied and resolved by the jury of the competition, composed by:
The competition jury is responsible for dealing with any complaints arising from the conduct of the competition during and on the date of the event. It will be convened at the time a complaint is made.
No appeal may be filed against a resolution taken by the jury of the competition.
Accepting the present regulations mandatorily involves that the participant authorizes TerraIncognita Global SL to take photographs and filming their participation in ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA.
In addition, the participant consents the publication, commercial and advertising exploitation of the images taken during ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA -including those images in which the participant is clearly identifiable- without any right of economical compensation for the participant. Images will not be used for any other purposes than those stated before.
TerraIncognita Global SL owns all image rights of the event in exclusive. Any media or advertising projects must have the consent of TerraIncognita Global SL.
In accordance with the provisions of the Organic Law 3/2018 of December 5th on Personal Data Protection, the participant’s personal data will be included in a folder named “Sport Events” owned by TerraIncognita Sport SL. The data will be used for the management, organization, realization and communication of sport events, publication of results and ensuring the safety of participants. The data will be used by the organizing entity TerraIncognita Sport SL.
Participants are responsible of the veracity and accuracy of the data provided and they may exercise their rights to access, rectify, cancel or oppose their personal data in accordance with the Organic Law 3/2018 December 5th.
