MARATHON is the reduced version of UNICAJA ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA. It shares with it the itinerary, checkpoints and refreshment stations of the 40 kilometers that run from the town of Quéntar to the first pass through Pradollano where the finish line of the four modalities will be installed.
It is designed to offer an alternative with less physical demands than the TRAIL and a greater time margin to all those runners who want to be part of the atmosphere of UNICAJA ULTRA SIERRA NEVADA.
The MARATHON runners will start at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11 in the town of Quéntar.
It has an elevation gain of +2400m. With a semi-self-sufficiency character, it has a maximum time to complete the route of 10 hours. The maximum number of bibs available is 450.
The MARATON race will start on Saturday, 11 April, at 8:00 a.m. from the Quéntar Town Hall.
The finish line for the Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada will be in Plaza de Pradollano, Sierra Nevada.

The withdrawn runners will be transferred to Granada as soon as possible (departure of the Ultra). Those who want to go to Pradollano should wait for the bus departing at 10:20 am and 14:30 pm approx. from that point.
The withdrawn runners will be transferred to Pradollano as soon as possible at the closing of the refreshment post.

There will be generalized and/or random material controls at any point along the route. Failure to wear any of these items will result in the immediate invalidation of the race bib.
Clothing upper part (It is not mandatory to run with it):
1st Layer (inner): Short or long sleeve thermal/technical undershirt.
2nd Layer: Windbreaker
The MARATHON will have a checkroom service with a single bag that will be delivered at the start and collected at the finish line.
Due to the great difference in weather conditions between the different sections of the Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada course and the impossibility of knowing for sure the weather conditions during the race, the mandatory equipment indicated will be MANDATORY from start to finish.
It may seem excessive but in the mountains you never know what can happen and in case of an accident this material is vital.
We recommend consulting the weather forecast the days before to choose the material to use.

The organization has also planned a FREE shuttle bus service for all runners who finish in Pradollano and wish to go to Granada that will connect Pradollano with Granada, where the start of the Unicaja Ultra Sierra Nevada took place.
The bus service schedules are as follows:
*Those registered for the marathon are recommended to take the bus to get to Quéntar, otherwise, they may have parking problems due to the limitations of the municipality.
